The glass company Crystalite Bohemia a.s. was established in October 2009 and today still produces glass from its manufacturing facility in Svetla nad Sazavou, in Vysocina area of the Czech Republic. This is the same site the original production facility was built in 1969. Then it included hand made glass but with the new ownership in 2009 it changed to be fully automated. Currently it employs around 750 people and has an annual turnover in excess of 45 million euros. The company exports its products to more than 82 countries world wide, and for the last ten years has been owned by Mr. Lubor Cerva, a Czech entrepreneur and investor. Every day the factory produces more than 130 tons of glass, making Crystalite Bohemia one of the worlds largest glass factories producing both beverage and decorative glass items. This means the daily output is in excess of 170,000 items of beverage ware and around 24,000 pieces of decorative glassware.
